The path of rejection began in the life of our Lord right at His birth and continued till His death. “He came unto His own, and His own received Him not” (Jn 1:11). “He was despised and rejected of men” (Isa 53:3). Dear child of God, you too will have the “privilege” of following the footprints of your Master.
You can take rejection in the right spirit (in the Spirit of Christ, singing and rejoicing), or you can curse God, murmur, and complain of those who have rejected you.
Often, when children of God feel rejected, they mourn and complain and indulge in self-pity, blaming others for their misery. Such will end up in final rejection at the Coming of the Lord. But if we learn to rejoice when rejected, it will lead us to the glory of resurrection. You will be resurrected or raptured when Jesus Christ comes. The rejected Stone became the Corner Stone. The stones that join this Corner Stone should also have the character traits it has.
Dear child of God, you maybe going through a path of rejection right now. It may be very agonizing and may appear to be a prolonging. But do you realize that your rejection leads you to resurrection? The more you are rejected for the sake of Christ, the more you will be “accepted in the Beloved” (Eph 1:6). And the day is certainly not far off when you will be raised to glory.
“Foes may hate, despise, revile you,
And thy friends unfaithful prove;
Still unwearied in forgiveness,
Let thy heart know only love.”
