May 24 - A CARING GOD

“What is man, that thou art mindful of him? or the son of man, that Thou visitest him?” (Heb 2:6)

What a loving and caring God we have! “What is man, that Thou shouldest magnify him? And that Thou shouldest set Thine heart upon him? And that Thou shouldest visit him every morning, and try him every moment?” (Job 7:17,18).

God setting His heart upon us and visiting us every morning with His blessings shows how mindful our God is of us. “Blessed be the Lord, Who daily loadeth us with benefits” (Psa 68:19). His mercies and compassions are new every morning (Lam 3:22,23).

          “Great is Thy faithfulness!

           Great is Thy faithfulness!

Morning my morning new mercies I see:

All I have needed Thy hand hath provided,

Great is Thy faithfulness, Lord, unto me.”

When our God visits us in the morning, if we are lazy or too busy to spend time with Him (in morning devotions), how sad He would be! We sent Him away on many mornings when He came to load us with His blessings – as we were too busy to receive Him.

Every moment the Lord tries us or checks our life; every moment He checks our thoughts, desires, imaginations, words, deeds and feelings – to see that they are unblameable before Him.

He watches over us every moment and “waters us every moment” or pours grace every moment. “I the Lord do keep it; I will water it every moment: lest any hurt it, I will keep it night and day” (Isa 27:3).

Why does our God do all these things for us every day and every moment? Only with this blessed hope – “in a moment, in a twinkling of an eye, at the last trump … we shall be changed” (I Cor 15:52).
