The root behind discouragement is disbelief in the promises of God.
The first recorded words of the devil are, “”Hath God said?”" – a question intended to make the woman doubt God’s word. Jesus took up the Word of God against the devil. “”It is written, it is written, it is written..!”"
When the Word of God comes, the demon of discouragement has to flee. The Word of God is quick and powerful and sharper than any twoedged sword. It can give us life and new life. The whole world was created by His Word and it is upheld by His Word. You dont need to live in the realm of discouragement.
Beloved, we are not ordinary people. You are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a peculiar people. You belong to the King of kings, and Lord of lords, and God of gods. No demon can stand before you.
Weeping may endure for a night but joy comes in the morning. After the darkness there’s a bright morning. After a deep valley there’s a huge mountain. Trust in the Word of God. The Lord will make the bitter sweet for you. He will turn darkness into light. He will turn confusion into peace, your emptiness into His fulness, your shame into glory, your weakness into strength, your filthiness into holiness, your death into life, your hell into heaven.
His Word will do that. That’s why the Word is called the word of encouragement. In the name of Jesus rebuke the spirit that is discouraging you.
